Amendoeira – Faldo golf course is set in outstanding beauty in central Algarve in the Silves area, just 35 minutes from Faro Airport. It has fabulous views of the Monchique mountains with it’s rolling hills and valleys abundant with almond,carob and orange trees. This stunning area is also home to over fifty species of birds.

Silves the town is enchanting, littered with orange and lemon trees, sitting on the banks of the Rio Arade. There is history everywhere you look in Silves, to remind you of it’s affluent and bold past as a Moorish capital (“Xelb”). If you take a drive up to Monchique almost everywhere you turn you will see a breathtaking Panorama of the mountains and sea.

The Amendoeira – Faldo golf course is 6,604 metres, a par 72 championship course designed by Nick Faldo to demand the highest strategy of play.  

The character of this course demands careful positioning, but with high rewards. From the opening shot from an elevated tee the Amendoeira Faldo course offers challenges for the most experienced golfer. There is also the option for a spectacular shot over the largest lake on the Amendoeira. The course lies in a dramatic backdrop, with scrub bunkers, cacti, wild herbs and crushed limestone giving it a dessert feel.

There is a definite feel of Arizona on this course that makes for an engaging round.
